Dr. Letisha Brown
My work as a sociologist and public intellectual has taken me across the country and beyond. My public talks are related to my work in the study of sports, colorism, race and racism, and social inequality more broadly. I have given guest lectures virtually to courses at the University of Maryland College-Park, Louisiana State University, Georgia Gwinnett College, and the University of Texas at Austin. I have been featured on podcasts, including The Black Athlete Podcast, With Good Reason, African American Sports Podclass and Untenured Tracks. I have co-facilitated discussions with student athletes as part of the Loyal Project at Virginia Tech, as well as contributed to panel discussion for the Association of Public Land Grant Universities (APLU), the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Black Guilders Network, and the Professional Women’s Hockey Association.
